Elevating the "Affordable Luxury" e-commerce experience through high-end UI/UX design.
Richmond Interiors is a premier purveyor of luxury home furnishings known for high-quality craftsmanship and modern, sophisticated aesthetics. The objective of this project was to develop a digital storefront for the Hungarian market that would not only serve as a functional e-commerce platform but also act as a digital showroom—reflecting the "Apple-level" minimalism and premium feel inherent to the Richmond brand.
• Role: Lead UI/UX Designer
• Project Scope: Full website design, visual identity adaptation for web, and user journey mapping.
• Collaboration: Executed as a sub-contractor for Contento Marketing.
Taking inspiration from minimalist, high-end editorial layouts, I designed a digital environment that prioritizes high-quality imagery and whitespace.
• Editorialized Browsing: Instead of a traditional grid-heavy e-commerce feel, the design utilizes layout patterns similar to high-fashion magazines. This allows the furniture to take center stage, letting the textures and materials of the products speak for themselves.
• Intuitive Hierarchy: I structured the navigation to support both the task-oriented shopper (looking for specific items like "bárszékek") and the aspirational browser (looking for inspiration).
• Minimalist UI: By utilizing a clean, balanced typography system and a restrained color palette, the UI serves as an invisible frame, ensuring that the "Richmond feeling" is consistently maintained throughout the user journey, regardless of the device.
• Context-Aware Features: Integrated features such as the "Lookbook" section and social media integration (#richmondhungary) create a bridge between the digital store and the customer’s desire to see how these pieces look in a real-world home setting.
The homepage opens on a full-width hero slider set in real Richmond interiors, with an “Affordable Luxury” eyebrow and a clear value proposition. Curated category tiles and a “new arrivals” rail give shoppers fast routes into a deep catalogue, while a newsletter block and an Instagram feed grow the community around #richmondhungary.
Every product card carries the essentials — image, name, short description and price — plus a favourite (heart) action and status tags that do the merchandising: AKCIÓ (on sale), RAKTÁRON (in stock), SHOWROOM and BLACK FRIDAY, with per-category filters to narrow a large catalogue. The design spans the whole journey — a favourites list and a streamlined cart → shipping & payment checkout — plus the content pages a furniture brand needs: About, Customer Service (FAQ), Contact, and a dedicated “For Interior Designers” partner programme.
